Understanding The Importance of Sedation Dentistry

Hey, my name is Shelly Katalgo. My love for sedation dentistry started in high school. My best friend had a severe fear of going to the dentist and I wanted to help her feel better about it. Although I always enjoyed my dental visits, I felt bad that she struggled so much with going to hers. My parents taught me about sedation dentistry and I instantly dreamed of becoming a dental professional. I wanted to help kids like my friend stay fear free throughout their appointments by using gentle techniques and professional medications. Although I opted to follow a different career path, my passion for dentistry remained throughout the years. I will update my site with developments in this industry as soon as they are reported. I will also discuss the benefits of sedation dentistry in detail. Thanks for visiting. I hope you come back soon.

  • Getting Dental Veneers: What To Expect

    26 August 2019

Dental veneers are a popular cosmetic option that can improve the appearance of your smile, especially if you have crooked, chipped, or stained teeth. Specifically, dental veneers are "shells" that fit over your existing teeth to cover up teeth with imperfections. This is a much cheaper and less invasive option for beautifying your smile than other procedures, such as partial dentures or dental implants. If you're thinking about getting dental veneers, your first step should be to schedule an appointment with a dentist.

    28 June 2019

Keeping good oral hygiene is something everyone has to do. With so many people afraid of going to the dentist, it is especially important to start taking children early on. Introducing children to a dentist at a young age helps eliminate fears because you can make it a fun trip. Add a reward after their visits, such as playing in the park or a sweet treat (sugar-free though of course!). It's a good idea to get their mouths looked at early, as well, in order to catch any potential problems.

  • Are Dental Implants Safe?

    28 June 2019

Getting an implant involves putting a titanium post inside your jawbone before capping it with a tooth replacement made from a tooth-like material. In addition to all this, you'll probably have this implant in your mouth for the rest of your life. Therefore, if you're considering getting an implant, it's only natural for you to wonder whether it's safe to have it in the first place. Implants have been in use for many decades now, and the methods used to put them in have greatly improved.

  • Laser Teeth Whitening: Pros & Cons Over At-Home Whitening Trays

    5 June 2019

Even though having teeth that are various shades of white is perfectly normal, many people desire to have those flashy white teeth that make them confident in sharing their smile with the world. If you are considering teeth whitening options and have done a bit of research, you probably have come across laser teeth whitening services offered by dental professionals. This is a highly effective way to get whiter teeth. The dentist uses a whitening gel on your teeth and then heats that gel with a small laser to cause stains to dissolve.

  • The Effects Of Starchy Foods On Your Teeth

    10 May 2019

While it is true that eating a lot of candy is not good for your teeth, you might not realize that there are foods that may be even worse for your teeth than candy. One such type of food is anything that falls into the category of starchy, refined carbohydrates. Foods like this are appealing to eat and may taste great to you, but you should understand that foods in this category could cause more damage to your teeth than candy.
